Okay so nothing worked to solve my issue. It appeared as though packets were being lost mid-download and this would cause the patch to fail. I used Cyberghost to connect using the free LA server and the problem went away. I am going to assume the patch server for some of us is taking a crappy route. It appears to get fixed using a free VPN I don't have lag while playing and never had to use one until now I assume people already using one, had no issues with the patch download.
